THE MAIN EVENT
FESTIVAL TOURNAMENT
WHO WILL BE THE INAUGURAL GRAND CHAMPION?

RULES & TECHNICAL OVERVIEW
Don’t understand the detail, no problem. Remember our Tournament Team will be there on the day to facilitate competition activities.
- The Tournament will be run using the popular “cards” method and MatchPlay tournament software.
- Machines for use during the Tournament will be pre-selected by the Tournament Director (Qualifying & Finals).
- Entry into the tournament includes 3 cards with 5-games on each card. Additional cards will be available to purchase at any time during the qualifying sessions (not available during Finals).
- Competitors choose 5 different machines to play on each card from the bank of Qualifying machines. Note. players are only permitted to play each machine once per card.
- After informing an official of their chosen machine list for their card, competitors can play their chosen machines in any order during the qualifying session.
- Qualifying machines will be closely monitored by officials during the session, and when a player wishes to commence a qualifying game they are required to notify a scoring official.
- After completed the qualifying game, players must have their score verified by a scoring official and entered into the Tournament scoring system.
- Players must complete all 5 games per card, before starting a new card. Note. Competitors cannot switch between cards.
- Scores from every qualifying game played, on each machine, will be ranked using a linear points system (i.e. 100pts – highest score, 99pts – 2nd highest score etc.).
- Each competitor’s highest scoring card (based on their earned points) determines their qualifying position.
- The Top-16 qualifying players from the combined Qualifying session results will progress to the Finals. Note. depending on final competitors numbers this may be extended to the Top-24.
- Any ties for the qualifying positions, will be broken by a single game play-off on a machine chosen at random using a list randomiser. The results of the tie-break play-off will determine the final qualifying position of both players.
- No competitor at any time shall interfere with another competitor, or manipulate a qualifying machine – this will result in instant disqualification from the Tournament.
- “Nudging” is permitted as part of pinball competitive play, however any rough handling of machines during game-play will forfeit the score and in extreme cases result in disqualification.
